Hairdressers most contented workers?

Following on from the last article on team building and staff retention, research carried out by the University of Kent last year has found that hair salon workers are amongst the most contented workers in the UK. This BBC report on the happy hairdressers story paints a fuller picture and provides plenty of food for thought. But perhaps most  valuable are some of the comments left at the foot of the article. Open and honest feedback from customers and workers is not always easy to come by - there are several comments there which offer an interesting insight into what customers want from hair salons and what workers want from employers.

Tell me about your coaching journey.

I was constantly frustrated - I needed a way to unblock progress and there was no instant answer.
